Online Technical Management Degree Programs

In the technical management field, the combination of business knowledge and computer skills can lead to a promising career. If you're interested in technical management, you'll need a bachelor's degree or an MBA with a technology management emphasis. Coursework includes a technical emphasis in programming, operations, and data management, along with finance, personnel, project management, and communications.

While this versatile degree lends itself to many different job opportunities, one career in particular utilizes managerial skills and technical know-how. Management analysts evaluate a company's structure, operations, technology, profits, and future competitive potential, recommending changes where appropriate.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, management analysts work "in a wide range of industries, including management, scientific, and technical consulting firms; computer systems design and related services firms; and Federal State, and local governments." Furthermore, the field of management analysis is expected to grow faster than average through the year 2014. Although no degree program can guarantee a particular job or salary, annual median earnings for the industry are $63,450.
